On 26 August 2026, the Intelligent Traffic Information Center Foundation (iTIC) hosted SUMO Workshop #2 at the iTIC Office, 100th Anniversary Engineering Building, Chulalongkorn University. The workshop introduced SUMO (Simulation of Urban MObility), an open-source traffic simulation tool, to students, researchers, and external participants interested in applying traffic simulation to their research and professional work.
The workshop covered key aspects of SUMO, ranging from traffic network construction to the creation of traffic demand in various forms, providing participants with practical knowledge that can be further applied to research and real-world traffic analysis and planning.
As an open-source simulation platform, SUMO is well suited for research and practical applications. It enables users to test and evaluate different what-if scenarios, helping assess potential impacts and compare traffic management strategies before implementation.
